Something additional I did at the end that helped was leaving in a biotin conditioner for 25 minutes at the end which helped my hair still feel nourished after all the shampooing.
I also used biotin shampoo during the process which i feel helped keep my hair strong. It'll work for you, I put my hair in a jug of water to keep it soaked for 20 minutes like it said and it worked exactly how I needed.
Do what it says and you'll be good to go! This was a complete waste of money and only dried my hair out, doesn't even deserve 1 star. Very easy to use this product. The end result was amazing.
I was so shocked absolutely beautiful results. No need to recolor. Folks complaining about some of these brights not coming out - y'all need to read the instructions.
But don't blame a product for not doing something it's not supposed to I used this color remover to get rid of some excess Good Dye Young color in the shade, "Riot. The end result was a faded peach color. I would definitely recommend going in then with a second round. It's still a decent product. Easy directions, little wait time, and very gentle. Bought this product in the hopes to remove green temporary dye from my blonde hair. This product did nothing but my my hair stink and made my bathroom trash can smell so bad I had to throw it out.
I had blue semi permanent hair that wasn't budging after a month. I was tired of it and this stuff got out every single piece of blue hair and back to my previous color. It smells bad yes but it does the job!! I couldn't believe how well it worked! I used this to get a salon color job gone wrong out of my hair, it worked. I dyed my hair with a demi permanent blonde level 7 and my hair is pitch black now.
This product works. I have very long dreadlocks and it works through and through. The only negative is that is smells horrible and the scent lingers for about a week at least for me it did.
I washed it about five times. Removed both the reds and purplish colors in my hair. The only bad thing is how long you have to rinse your hair. I colored my platinum blonde hair with a direct dye and hated the color. I immediately used Color Oops.
Even though the instructions say it's not meant for direct dyes, it took the color out. While it was processing it turned my reddish hair green but when I washed Color Oops most of the green went away. I was left with a green tint that completely washed out a few days later I washed my hair every day hoping to get the smell out. It's been 11 days since I used Color Oops and my hair still smells. It smells like the solution used when someone gets their hair permed.
I used this on my daughters hair. She has light teal semi-permanent color. Used as directed and did not remove any of the color. Would not recommend. We used conditioning one and her hair feels like straw. First things first, this does NOT work on semi-permanent dye, despite the labeling. This reverses the oxidation process which means it ONLY works on permanent dye. I had permanent dye in my hair originally black, but it had faded to a pretty medium brown and read the instructions, re-read them, then read them again.
I followed them to a T, but it barely removed any dye out of my hair. I really don't think I missed anything and maybe I just need to do it a second time, but in my experience, this did basically nothing for my permanent dye. After playing with color for months it was time to go back to my natural blond. In December I had my hair professionally colored and my stylist used Pulp Riot which is awesome.
When that really started to fade I maintained the basic color scheme using Overtone color depositing conditioners in the more vibrant silvers and magenta and then eventually the lighter shades of silver and pink.
It was not in my budget to go back to the salon so I gave Color Oops a try. My hair is very thin and fine. I followed the directions exactly as stated yes, rinsed for 20 mins - that was a pain. When It came time for the shampoo and rinse I used Hask Argan Oil Shampoo and after that I used their conditioning mask and left it on for about 45 minutes.
My hair is back to it's natural color with just a faint hint of pink in some areas that you only notice in certain light if you are looking for it. Based on the reviews I read I was expecting a horrendous smell but, while not great, it wasn't too bad. After the washing and conditioning I smell the argan oil more than anything else. I would recommend this product but remind everyone that so much plays in to your results: natural color and texture, color history, and how you follow the instructions.
So I had a disaster after my home dying So in general this product can help, but you should keep in mind that maybe later you will need to visit salon to make your hair perfect. I think the bad reviews for this product are by people who don't understand how hair color works.
