So, you may want to think twice before you compare Bleach fillers to One Piece fillers unless you want Monkey D.
Luffy to school you on math. For those unfamiliar with Tite Kubo 's Bleach , the series follows the young delinquent Ichigo Kurosaki , who had the ability to see spirits.
He soon obtains the power of a Soul Reaper - one meant to usher lost souls to the afterlife - and now has the duty to defend the living world from monstrous dark spirits known as Hollows. I'm guessing the reason Bleach has so much filler like any other anime is that caught up with the anime and if so why didn't the anime go in hiatus until the manga was up ahead enough for like 20 Bleach episodes.
IMO the filler is what killed Bleach I think it still would've been popular enough to be made into anime if it had released in seasons instead of coming out every week with shitty filler specifically the filler arcs.
Anime doesn't just go on hiatus like manga. They have weekly set broadcast times. This is also why you see recaps in shorter shows - when they are battling to meet the deadline, they reuse footage.
Anyway, fillers are retarted. They shouldn't adapt anime unless they're sure they can move alongside or behind the manga. Filler episodes are like buffers They're cheaply put together by using lower quality animation and reused scenes from previous episodes This is the main problem for long running animes is that they can't produce the entire show and then air it, instead as it airs it's also being produced Fillers create a gap so that they can create the better quality canon episodes meanwhile Most long running series fail or are strangled by not being able to meet the deadline So far the only long runner that actually was well prepared is One Piece, they created enough episodes before airing that they have plenty of time and create decent quality I think Naruto had even more fillers and it still didn't 'kill' the anime.
I don't think you can blame the decline in popularity of Bleach of anything else than the source material. That being said the fillers certainly didn't help. Probably because you don't wash your clothing with entirely bleach, you gotta use some water as filler.
Because the creators of the anime had to stall for time while Tite Kubo snorted cocaine penned his mad ramblings and molested underage schoolgirls.
The Bleach anime never caught up and went past the manga like was the case with Rurouni Kenshin. Long , continuously running battle shonen anime usually have filler so as not to overtake the manga. I also remember reading somewhere that the Japanese are not into showing reruns, so for a long running anime a new episode has to air every week until it's finished airing or cancelled. Long running battle shonen anime also never really take hiatuses from tv.
Fairy Tail is the only long running battle shonen anime I know that takes hiatuses. There are users who made threads about "How to watch X without the filler". Just check it out. From what I know, I think Naruto have more filler than Bleach. Certainly, Detective Conan would probably on the top 1, but when I saw the manga releases, it seems consistence story wise unlike the anime which have TV originals The amount isn't the real problem, at least to me.
Bleach ended its ruin in with a total of episodes. Most of these episodes belong to the five filler arcs, but there are also individual episodes of groups of episodes that are filler content. Bleach is one of those anime that has a surprising amount of fillers and you might wonder whether you have to watch an additional unrelated episodes or not. Bleach started in and ended after eight years and 16 seasons in Bleach was a very special anime and an amazing adventure that we highly recommend, despite a large number of fillers.
An episode of Bleach lasts somewhere between 22 and 24 minutes, but we are going to take the latter number into consideration when making our calculations. So, where does that put us? A total of episodes of 24 minutes means that you have a total of 8, minutes of material to watch.
